"I've wanted a Thermomix for several years and I'm so happy I made the investment and finally purchased one. I live in a small apartment, so space is an issue for me. My TM7 fits nicely into my decor and I don't have to worry about needing so many kitchen appliances."

What Professional Chefs Say

Professional kitchens have used Thermomix machines for decades, long before the home version became popular. The appeal is the same one home cooks get: precise, repeatable temperature control and the ability to emulsify, purée, and hold a sauce without someone standing over it. Restaurants commonly use one in prep for ultra-smooth purées, silky soups, custards, and stable emulsified sauces that would otherwise tie up a line cook.

Most professional chefs treat it as a precision prep tool, not a replacement for a stove, grill, or fryer — which mirrors exactly how it fits into a home kitchen. It's a workhorse for the stirred, blended, and gently cooked work; the pan or oven still handles the searing and crisping.

"I think the thing that intrigued me most about using the Thermomix is the detail about the precise, of the timing, about the texture in the desserts. The Thermomix inspires me to try every day to do something different."

Antonio Bachour, Bachour Miami — Esquire's 2019 Pastry Chef of the Year

"I absolutely love my Thermomix®. I often call it my very own apprentice that never misses the temperature!"

Christy Tania, Owner, Glacé (Melbourne)

"We have one at home, one at the restaurant, and an older one in storage that we use as backup!"

Kane Pollard, Chef/Owner, Topiary

Award-Winning Design

Independent design juries agree with the owner reviews above — the TM7 has picked up real, verifiable hardware, not marketing badges.

Two iF Design Awards in One Year

The TM7 won the iF Design Award 2026 in two separate categories: Product Design (Kitchen Appliances) for the machine itself, and User Experience for the TM7 + Cookidoo ecosystem together. Both wins were confirmed at the iF Design Award Night in Berlin on April 27, 2026. The iF Design Award is one of the three most prestigious design prizes in the world, running since 1954 — the 2026 edition drew over 10,000 entries from 68 countries, judged blind by an independent jury with no Vorwerk employees on the panel.

The Product Design win cited three signature elements: the pleated 2.2L stainless steel mixing bowl, the 10-inch multi-touch display, and the matte-black architectural base. The UX win — the harder one to earn, since a jury has to test the actual workflow rather than just the look — cited the 100,000+ recipes synced seamlessly across the TM7, the Cookidoo app, and the web, plus the automatic weighing and guided step-by-step interface already covered on this site.

The Full Trophy Cabinet

Twelve major international design and innovation awards in the TM7's first year on sale — most premium kitchen appliances launched in 2025 received zero.

Does Winning an Award Change the Price?

No. The Thermomix TM7 is still $2,299 CAD, and Vorwerk sets one fixed price across every consultant — there's no post-award price bump or "celebration" discount code to chase. What the awards do confirm is that the design and the day-to-day workflow have been independently validated by people with no stake in selling you one.

My Experience

We're an Asian family, so I'll admit I had some doubts when I first got my TM7. I expected it to be more of a Western-style appliance—great for soups, sauces and purées, but maybe not something that would really fit the way we cook and the food we grew up eating.

I was pleasantly surprised by how wrong I was.

I've made everything from congee, curries and dumpling fillings to sticky rice and mango desserts, and I've discovered that the TM7 can handle so many of the flavours and dishes our family loves. I even recently made stir-fried cabbage and sautéed shrimp, and both turned out surprisingly well. Does it give you the smoky wok hay you get from a real wok? No. Nothing really replaces that. But when I'm looking for a quick, easy meal, it's honestly pretty darn good.

One of the things I love most is the consistency. I used to second-guess myself with certain dishes—Did I cook this long enough? Is the temperature right? Did I add enough seasoning? With the TM7, so much of that guesswork disappears. The guided recipes make it easy to get a good result, whether I'm cooking or one of my daughters decides to take over.

And that's probably been my biggest surprise: the TM7 has changed who cooks in our house. My daughters went from watching me cook to choosing recipes and making them themselves, from start to finish. Even my mother-in-law can use it, since there are recipes available in Chinese, which makes it much more accessible for our family.

I also think the size is worth mentioning. I don't think the TM7 is designed for a really large family. I'd say a family of 4–6 is where it makes the most sense depending on what you're making. If you're regularly feeding a much larger crowd, you may find yourself cooking in batches.

If you're thinking about getting one, give yourself a week or two to get comfortable with the touchscreen, settings and attachments. There is a small learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very intuitive.

For me, the TM7 isn't about replacing every other way I cook. I still love my wok, and there are definitely things I'd rather cook the traditional way. What I love is that it has made everyday cooking easier, less stressful, and something the whole family can actually participate in.

That's what has made the TM7 feel like more than just another appliance in our kitchen. It's become something our whole family actually uses.
