About Maggie
I've always been a foodie — I love eating, cooking, and trying new cuisines — but the joy of it was getting lost in the logistics: the endless chopping, the juggling of pots to get everything hot at once, the sink full of dishes at the end of it. I'm based in Toronto, a mother in a household of five — my husband, our two daughters, my mother-in-law, and me — and dinner meant someone, usually my mother-in-law, cooking a full meal from scratch every night for a house full of different tastes. Some nights we're craving Asian food, other nights it's Italian or a classic Western meal, and getting all of that on the table well, night after night, was a lot for one person to carry.
What actually sold me on the Thermomix was a demo where I watched it cook a full multi-course meal at once — a protein, a side, a soup, and rice — all cooking simultaneously using its different levels. That's when it clicked for me: this wasn't just another kitchen gadget, it was a way to get a real, varied meal on the table without it being one person's job.
Now the TM7 does the heavy lifting in our house. It helps me plan dinners across whatever cuisine we're in the mood for that week, my daughters get involved in the actual cooking since the guided steps make it approachable for them, and my mother-in-law finally gets to be semi-retired from the stove after years of running our kitchen solo. Cooking became something our whole family shares instead of one person's chore — that's why I became a consultant.
And that's really why this site exists. When I was researching the TM7 myself, everything I found was either official marketing or nothing useful at all. This is the page I wish I'd found back then: real prices, honest opinions — including where the TM7 isn't the right fit — and a real family actually using it.
